Our Berlin Inspires winter edition is out in a few days: Find out which locations Izogie Guobadia, Soho House's membership manager, enjoys most during freezing days in Berlin

Half-German, half-Nigerian, Izogie Guobadia was born and raised in Berlin, where she studied law. After a brief stint as a paralegal, she changed direction, traveling the world and founding eco yoga mat company YoMats, which donates a portion of its profits to a Cape Town NGO. She also runs the membership department at one of Berlin’s most sought-after venues, Soho House. We chatted to Izogie about her top tips for winter in the capital. Watch out for the launch of our latest Berlin Inspires edition and discover the city’s charm during those chill wintery days.

Your favorite yoga class in Berlin?

I love all classes at Jivamukti Berlin in Brunnenstrasse, but my absolute favorite is Ulrike Schablin on Wednesdays at 11am. Her choice of music and the flow of exercises give me the energy I need for my packed work days.

The city’s best spot for people-watching?

I am not too much into people-watching, but would recommend Borchardt during Berlinale.

The best hot drinks in town are served at...

The Barn and Distrikt Coffee simply offer the best coffee. At The Barn I usually have a coffee and a pastel de nata. Distrikt Coffee has a delicious breakfast menu and the friendliest staff. Chén Chè is one of the most beautiful Asian tea houses in Berlin. Hidden in a backyard, it always strikes me with its interior. My favorite tea is blue butterfly petal tea.

Where do you go for homeware and accessories?

I usually buy online. In Berlin I go to Kantstrasse, Ruby in Mitte or flea markets on weekends. For flowers I recommend Marsano. They make the most beautiful bouquets and have a delivery service.

An art gallery or museum that encourages contemplation?

The Boros Collection and the Blain Southern Gallery are always worth a visit when in need of contemporary art. The Boros Bunker itself is full of history and has finally found the right purpose for itself with its fascinating art collection.
